David Ta-Jen Lin

EAMP, Dipl, O.M. (NCCAOM)

David Ta-Jen Lin is a Washington State–licensed acupuncturist, nationally certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, educator, public speaker, and founder of HopeSpring Wellness in Bellevue, Washington. With more than 20 years of clinical experience, he integrates the principles of traditional East Asian medicine with contemporary research, individualized care, and a compassionate understanding of each patient’s health journey.

David’s interest in healing began at the age of five, when he helped care for his grandfather following a stroke. That early experience shaped his understanding of caregiving and inspired a lifelong commitment to helping others improve their health and quality of life. At the age of fifteen, he began practicing meditation and qigong, establishing the foundation for his continuing interest in mind-body medicine, preventive care, and healthy aging.

David graduated from Bastyr University’s acupuncture and Oriental medicine program in 2005 and became licensed in Washington State in 2006. He is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and continues to pursue advanced education in integrative medicine, neurological health, brain health, and evidence-informed acupuncture. He is currently completing postgraduate doctoral studies at the National University of Health Sciences.

Throughout his career, David has pursued advanced training in multiple acupuncture and East Asian medicine systems, including:

  • Advanced Qigong Therapy with Master Zhao Xue-Zhong

  • Chinese Auricular Medicine with Dr. Li-Chun Huang

  • Contemporary pulse-analysis systems with Dr. Wei-Yen Chang

  • Acupuncture approaches for stroke and spinal injury rehabilitation with Dr. Zhu

  • Balance Method Acupuncture developed by Dr. Richard Teh-Fu Tan

  • F.A.C.E. Facial Acupuncture with Professor Jeong Hwa Song and Dr. Jui-Pin Shen

David has worked to introduce innovative East Asian medicine services and educational programs to the Pacific Northwest. In 2012, he developed a comprehensive Postpartum Recovery Program to support mothers during the important period following childbirth. In 2018, he introduced the Korean F.A.C.E. facial acupuncture system to the greater Seattle area, offering patients a natural and holistic approach to facial rejuvenation.

His clinical interests include brain health, healthy aging, sleep, stress-related conditions, chronic pain, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, women’s health, Bell’s palsy, neurological rehabilitation, facial acupuncture, and cosmetic rejuvenation. He takes time to understand each patient’s health history, constitution, lifestyle, and personal goals before developing an individualized care plan.

Educator and Public Speaker

In addition to his clinical work, David is an experienced educator and public speaker who has presented at numerous online and in-person events. His presentations explore acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, brain health, healthy aging, sleep, neurological wellness, perinatal support, women’s health, and integrative approaches to well-being.

His speaking engagements have included presentations for the Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation and the Northwest Association for Perinatal Support, as well as professional workshops, community health programs, wellness events, and continuing-education seminars.

David is also the founder and president of the American Facial Acupuncture Association. Through the organization, he promotes professional education, clinical excellence, and international collaboration in facial acupuncture and related East Asian medicine techniques.

Community Leadership

David is actively involved in community service through the Bellevue Rotary Club and serves as Club Secretary from 2025 to 2027. Through Rotary, he supports initiatives that promote community health, international understanding, professional collaboration, education, and service to others.

His community involvement reflects his belief that health extends beyond the treatment room. He is committed to building stronger connections among healthcare professionals, educators, community organizations, and the people they serve.

Philosophy of Care

David believes meaningful healing begins with listening. His approach focuses on understanding the whole person rather than addressing symptoms in isolation. He combines traditional diagnostic principles, modern clinical knowledge, lifestyle guidance, and individualized treatment strategies to help patients move toward greater balance and long-term well-being.

At HopeSpring Wellness, his goal is to create an environment where patients feel heard, respected, and supported. He encourages each person to become an active participant in their health while providing thoughtful, compassionate, and personalized care.
