Remote Sensing Device
A Remote Sensing Device (RSD) Vehicle Intelligence System is an advanced roadside monitoring system that uses optical sensors, imaging technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), and communication networks to remotely measure vehicle emissions, identify vehicles, and collect traffic data without requiring vehicles to stop. It is widely used by transportation agencies, environmental regulators, and smart city operators to improve air quality monitoring, traffic management, and regulatory compliance.
How It Works
As a vehicle passes the monitoring point:
Optical sensors project infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV) light across the roadway.
The vehicle's exhaust plume passes through the light beam.
Sensors measure the absorption of specific wavelengths to estimate pollutant concentrations.
