Discover Qigong through a progressive three-class workshop series led by Brendan Thorson, MS, LMT, an experienced Qigong and energy-medicine instructor with more than 20 years of study, practice, and teaching.
​
Qigong is a traditional Chinese mind-body practice that combines gentle movement, breathing, posture, relaxation, and focused awareness. The practice is designed to help improve the connection between the body and mind while supporting greater calm, balance, mobility, and vitality.
​
This series provides an accessible introduction for beginners while allowing returning participants to gradually deepen their practice. Each 90-minute class introduces practical techniques that can be incorporated into everyday life.

A Progressive Three-Class Series
The series is organized into three levels, with each class building upon the principles and techniques introduced in the previous session.
​
Class 1: Qigong Foundations
Begin with the essential elements of Qigong, including posture, breathing, grounding, relaxation, and foundational movements.
Participants will learn how to release unnecessary tension, coordinate breathing with movement, and establish a simple home practice.
​
Class 2: Developing Energy and Flow
Build upon the foundational movements by developing greater coordination, fluidity, balance, and awareness.
This class introduces additional exercises and explores how movement, breathing, and attention work together to create a more integrated practice.
​
Class 3: Deepening Your Practice
Refine the techniques introduced throughout the series and develop a more complete and sustainable personal practice.
Participants will explore deeper relaxation, internal awareness, focused intention, and ways to incorporate Qigong into a regular wellness routine.
Participants are encouraged to complete the classes in sequence, although individual class requirements may vary.

Beginners are welcome. No previous experience with Qigong, Tai Chi, meditation, or physical fitness is required.

Movements may be adapted for different ages, abilities, and comfort levels. Chairs will be available for participants who prefer or require seated practice.

About the Instructor
Brendan Thorson, MS, LMT, is the founder of Vital Energy Medicine. He holds a master’s degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Oriental Medicine and has extensive training in Qigong, Tai Chi, meditation, massage therapy, and energy medicine.
Throughout his career, Brendan has taught thousands of hours of classes, workshops, and professional training programs. His teaching style is practical, supportive, and accessible, with an emphasis on helping participants develop skills they can use in everyday life.

Class Format
Each workshop is approximately 90 minutes and includes:

Guided Qigong instruction

Breathing and grounding exercises

Gentle standing or seated movement

Practical explanations of Qigong principles

A sequence that participants can continue practicing at home

Time for questions and individual guidance
